Really nice work here, it flows together really well. I think it barely pushed having too much going on at the same time though, so maybe flowing it together or just layering it would create a better sound. Regardless the mastering and mixing was done really well. The basic melody was simple and nice, but since you put so much on top of it, it built up to a cool song. Some of the samples sounded like they came from a lot of different places, and the quality of each was a bit different, which created a weird kind of mix. These are just things I think you could improve on, you still did a great job here. Keep it up.

:O! are you saying I did mastering good?!?! lol I'm really glad the mastering sounded ok...i'm usually not very good at it >_> I'm glad you liked this though! I will try to separate instruments out a little better next time...I actually did have a hard time adjusting volume for this one O_O so much peaking...

I love the vibe you had going on here, it reminded me a lot of Diablo 2 and I think this could definitely be used for a videogame. I think the guitar sounded a bit too rough though, and the song needed something a little extra. I really would've liked a bit of piano or violin, but that's asking for something not a lot of people can easily just throw in. Regardless, the melody was really great, and the mix was fantastic, so keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks. This review helps!

I have to say, this just proves you could do a lot if you put your all into a single song. You can tell it sounds great, like mixed good and everything flowing together. You just need to put it into a song. Like an actual song. The only thing that stands out is the bass drum. It needs to blend in more. I think you should take what's here and put it in another full length track.

Everything was well done, but the track never diverged from the same kind of basic melody. And although the bass sounds really good with the song, when it turns into a solo I think it needs something to help it stick and and really give it that "solo" feel. So overall, the track is just missing the next little thing to push it into something really interesting. Regardless, the quality and mixing is well done and you did a good job.

Angelsosa responds:

Thanks!

The biggest thing that stood out for me was how professional and smooth it sounded. Although a lot of it is simple, it comes out really catchy. The beat was solid throughout, and the melody fits in really nicely. However, the entire time I was waiting for it to become a little "more". Just like something was missing. Still, you did a really good job, keep it up.

Lethal-Input responds:

Thanks! Yeah I feel like I needed to put something really different in there, and I almost did at first, but it kinda failed so I just stuck with the way it was. Right now I feel like the part where the kick comes in feels a little weak and empty, so I'd probably a bit more bounce there if I were to do it again

Wow it's kind of hard to say what I really liked about this. It's very well done in terms of mastering. Everything seems to be at the perfect level, and together it really makes a solid track. The only thing I wish you did more of is the quick little bass thing @ 0:15, that was really neat. I think you could maybe flesh this out into a longer, standalone song. Regardless, this was really great work but next time try to put more into the track other than percussion, such as the bass thing I mentioned earlier.

Vierarmig responds:

Thanks! About "more into the track": it's just background loop. client does't want that the track does't attract much attention. check the game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gopNkZ_Wc8o&list=TLNfDUta_P7Mk

You definitely got a lot of potential here. You can flow really well and the music goes really well with everything but It seems like you might have rushed a few of the lyrics. I don't think anyone wants to hear the word "pepperoni" in a rap beat. Don't let that get you down though, you obviously have a lot you can go on from this and if you sit down and put in a lot of effort you could easily have a 5/5 track within a month or so. If I were you I'd flesh this out into a longer, full-length track. That might be a lot of work, but I think it would definitely be worth it.

KleptoidKat responds:

lol hence the reason I wrote "throwaway rap", wasnt it hilarious tho?

I have written full tracks though most are unreleased, due to various reasons.

Hey! But thanks so much for the thoughts! I like pepperoni.

I'm not the biggest fan of the "wubs" from 2:05-2:50, and I think they take a bit away from what makes this track so amazing. From then on though, I think it equals out to a really great balance. But I don't want you to think that this isn't a great piece. Seriously, keep up the amazing work this is fantastic.

Xtrullor responds:

Yeah I pretty much agree with you. The thing with my whole arrangement and composition in general is that it's quite not there yet. I may have the technical intricacy, but the composition may let it down a bit. I think the latter is what really makes music enjoyable most of the time, so I have a good reason to improve on that case.

Thanks for the comment.

Wow, simply amazing. Great composition, can I ask what program you use? I use FL and I can't even get close to this fantastic of a piano sound.

pit80 responds:

Well.. Honestly... I don't like FL. I start compose music too long time ago. Then was DOS system ;) Of course Don't have Fl yet. So use very old program. No matter what program. Matter it's a VST instruments and brain :) ;)

P.s. You can use programs like fast tracker, Impulse tracker, Cubase. Something like this. But i don't think you'll like it.

Really neat! You have a lot of talent with groove and stuff, so try to build off of that. As I said, it was really neat, but it felt like it was missing the big finish. I was waiting the entire time for a big crash and then jazzy finish to complete the song. That however, is just me. I don't want you to think you did a bad job here. The song was really unique and was really catchy. If I were you, I'd consider using some of the stuff you did here into other songs. Regardless, fantastic job and really keep it up.

Rekuiem responds:

I agree a lot about missing that big finish, in many ways it ties into how I was feeling when I wrote this song, in many ways I had been trying to travel through these grooves and as I got deeper into some of my darker places, as for going into other songs the ending crawl is a sort of homage to a previous song I made called On Deck. This one in many ways or me was like a struggle, really glad you dig it! Thanks
