First off, the drum part of the song was awesome. The drop beats and little things thrown in here and there like wood hits really made it great. I didn't like the base piece @ 0:40 or so, it just lacked a lot of variety or dynamic. Once it comes back in @ 1:30 it works really well with the piece but I don't think it should have stuck out earlier in the song. Otherwise, it's a really good song. Short and to the point, no fluff. Great job!

I Appreciate your honesty.
+Good that you liked the drumms & Percss. Variety is a point they almost come back every review.
I will work on it in the next Project.

Short and to the point, no fluff. Great job! ( Thanks you for your time )

A lot of potential here. Everything you did was great, melody, percussion, and so on were all really nice. However, if you're going to do a build up piece like this where things are slowly added on, you should consider shortening up the piece a bit. I think this song would've been much better condensed into a 5/6 minute song. Really though, good job. A few parts it seemed really jumbled, and like there wasn't much thought put into certain patterns. But otherwise, really good job. Mixing was done well and you really made it come together.

Thank you for your response, when I get stoned I kinda end up with a song that almost never stops, so length wise I'll keep that in mind for future pieces. I also made this track (like most of my songs) in like one day so if I space out my work I could give more thought into it. For my next upload, I'll try to get things going on the complexity side of things.

First off, you're already aware you need a better mic before you get serious about making this kind of music, but you also need to rap differently. You need to put more feeling into other than it sounding like you're reading the lyrics off a piece of paper. It's really monotone and makes the piece drag on. The beat is good, but a bit too simplistic. A bit more variety and it'll be golden. The mixing needs a bit of touching as well, certain things stick out too much and it doesn't really come together super well. Your lyrics themselves and flow is awesome at some parts and I was really impressed with some of the rhymes, however others were really weak and took away from the parts where you really did good. So overall, you're on track but you really need to clean up a bit more and take the last couple steps you need to get a really solid song. Great try, and I know you can do it, but you need to put just a bit more effort into it.

xenxies responds:

Yes, this one was made in a single sitting, and the only reason this exists is because it was a request. However, if I ever attempt to make something like this again I'll work on it much more. I may even re-upload this after I fix the vocs.

Wow, just wow. To start, everything is mixed and put together really well. Not a single point did I think the quality of the work ever slipped. It's a great piece, although the only complaint I could think of is that you re-use a lot of patterns that I think could have been changed a bit to make the piece more alive. Otherwise, the percussion is spot on. Not too loud or "in your face", it accompanies all the melodies very nicely. The melodies themselves were very ambient and moving, and I really enjoyed the transitions. Amazing work, keep it up.

Chemiqals responds:

Thank you very much! I'm so glad you felt that way! The repetitive bits can certainly be attributed to my roots in electronic music. I need to keep working on that! =P

Pretty minimalist in general, but in a good way. The melody is ridiculously catchy, you should really consider doing a heavy-melodic piece in the future. Great work.

Voltus responds:

thank you! you just stated good things so why'd you give me "only" 4 stars?

Really peaceful track, great for background music. I think you could really remix it into something else, but I couldn't even begin to think of what kind of song. I think more songs like this would definitely be a good thing.

larrynachos responds:

It's definitely an ambient background track. Not sure what I could remix it into XD

I would have liked a bit more variety, but everything fits together exceptionally well. The biggest thing I liked was the drum beat, and the drop beats really made everything stand out. Like I said, a bit more variety especially to the melody would've been great but in it's own way it makes it more "spacey" to be similar throughout the song. Great work.

larrynachos responds:

The lack of variety is due to the fact that it's the background track for a game, so it has to be kinda bland. Thanks for the feedback!

Wow. Really refreshing and breath-taking. Every piece had it's own feel and specialty. My favorite was Milonga Nights by far, and the sheer amount of effort you put into this astounds me. There is not a single thing I can say I didn't enjoy and you earned every single star you get on this. The Jazz elements you incorporate really set the mood, and I never thought of the accordion as a real jazzy instrument, but you got away with it. This has to be my favorite piece I've reviewed.

PS: Sorry about the mixup in the R4R thread, I had many tabs open because if I put down two pieces I want reviewed I usually try and review more songs. I must have mistaken another tab for your piece. I apologize, and thank you for pointing it out or I would've never noticed.

SoundChris responds:

Thanks a lot for your kindness good sir - your review is highly appreciated! Glad you noticed that the jazz is the connecting thing over the whole piece. No problem with the R4R mixup - such things can happen - i also did this accidentially :D

Glad you liked our little piece here. All the best from both of us!

Wow, did you do all of this yourself? That's amazing work if you did. Everything is mixed well and all the melodies are great. A few transitions could use some work here and there, but otherwise it is hard to find anything to complain about. It would be awesome to see more songs like this from you.

RayS10 responds:

Thanks. it was a track i mixed a few years back in fact.

Not at all what I expected, it was really original. Everything sounds good, and the mixing was well done, the only issue being there wasn't a lot of variety and changes for a 3 minute song. Still, it was a good job done and you can see the effort put in. Keep it up.

Wongoof responds:

I tend to follow my ear now, instead of trying to make elaborate music, so it kind of comes out how it wants.
Thanks for the review though, I try to mix well but I am limited with my current equipment.
