Dragon's Dance (2015) Dragon's Dance (2015)

Rated 4 / 5 stars

Really nice work here, it flows together really well. I think it barely pushed having too much going on at the same time though, so maybe flowing it together or just layering it would create a better sound. Regardless the mastering and mixing was done really well. The basic melody was simple and nice, but since you put so much on top of it, it built up to a cool song. Some of the samples sounded like they came from a lot of different places, and the quality of each was a bit different, which created a weird kind of mix. These are just things I think you could improve on, you still did a great job here. Keep it up.

:O! are you saying I did mastering good?!?! lol I'm really glad the mastering sounded ok...i'm usually not very good at it >_> I'm glad you liked this though! I will try to separate instruments out a little better next time...I actually did have a hard time adjusting volume for this one O_O so much peaking...

A lot of really neat ideas here, and a lot of it works well. around 1:45 was really cool and I liked that part a lot. The intro was pretty minimalistic and worked well with the piece. The "hey" kind of felt disjointed and I think you had the right idea, but instead maybe a crash hit or something percussion based. The solo around 2:30 was a bit rough as well, and felt thrown together. Other than that though, you had a really awesome song here. I enjoyed it a lot and I definitely think if you continue this way you could easily produce some 5/5 songs.

I love the vibe you had going on here, it reminded me a lot of Diablo 2 and I think this could definitely be used for a videogame. I think the guitar sounded a bit too rough though, and the song needed something a little extra. I really would've liked a bit of piano or violin, but that's asking for something not a lot of people can easily just throw in. Regardless, the melody was really great, and the mix was fantastic, so keep doing what you're doing.

Ghosts of the Moon Ghosts of the Moon

Although you had a lot of good things working here, especially the vibe and some of the synth, it seemed like none of it came together really well in the end. The percussion sounded off, and it threw off the entire piece. The two different synths were not working together, both in volume and in general, and there was a lack of mixing and editing as the final step. This is definitely something you should take back into the shop and edit/fix. Like I said, the vibe you had going was really cool you just have to put it all together and mix it.

I have to say, this just proves you could do a lot if you put your all into a single song. You can tell it sounds great, like mixed good and everything flowing together. You just need to put it into a song. Like an actual song. The only thing that stands out is the bass drum. It needs to blend in more. I think you should take what's here and put it in another full length track.

Although really well done, as in sounding very professional and mixed together perfectly, I think it was missing a certain layer of depth. At around 2:45 this is fixed a little bit, when the high pitched sound comes in. The more bass sounds needed to come out a little bit more too. And despite it being an ambient track, I think it needed a certain level of growth throughout the song. You can notice this by jumping at 30s intervals. Once you get past the halfway point of the song this starts to come in, but I think if it was stronger, it would be a much better way to progress throughout the song. Regardless, don't take this as this isn't great work. Keep this up, and you'll be fine.

Boppy Tune Boppy Tune

Really nice, a good amount of groove in it. The drums were really well done too, drop beats at the perfect time and just really fitting. The "boppy" section could have been a bit louder, and I was definitely waiting for it to come in harder at a certain point. So overall, fantastic job. I really liked the song, but @3:12, I think a more complicated and powerful instrument could've been thrown over. but the transition after that section was awesome.

Everything was well done, but the track never diverged from the same kind of basic melody. And although the bass sounds really good with the song, when it turns into a solo I think it needs something to help it stick and and really give it that "solo" feel. So overall, the track is just missing the next little thing to push it into something really interesting. Regardless, the quality and mixing is well done and you did a good job.

The biggest thing that stood out for me was how professional and smooth it sounded. Although a lot of it is simple, it comes out really catchy. The beat was solid throughout, and the melody fits in really nicely. However, the entire time I was waiting for it to become a little "more". Just like something was missing. Still, you did a really good job, keep it up.

Lethal-Input responds:

Thanks! Yeah I feel like I needed to put something really different in there, and I almost did at first, but it kinda failed so I just stuck with the way it was. Right now I feel like the part where the kick comes in feels a little weak and empty, so I'd probably a bit more bounce there if I were to do it again

Wow it's kind of hard to say what I really liked about this. It's very well done in terms of mastering. Everything seems to be at the perfect level, and together it really makes a solid track. The only thing I wish you did more of is the quick little bass thing @ 0:15, that was really neat. I think you could maybe flesh this out into a longer, standalone song. Regardless, this was really great work but next time try to put more into the track other than percussion, such as the bass thing I mentioned earlier.

Vierarmig responds:

Thanks! About "more into the track": it's just background loop. client does't want that the track does't attract much attention. check the game
